Export Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply for all items that are intended for International Shipment, including shipments to Canada.
General Export Notes *NEW April 2007*
We are in the process of getting registered with US Customs in order to continue exporting items overseas. Until this process is complete, we are unable to send many items overseas. Books, manuals, and accessories will ship, however we will not be able to sell instruments overseas until this registration process is complete. We will keep you updated with the progress. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Method of Payment
We accept Paypal and Bidpay services, which are available in most countries. We will accept credit card payments from overseas customers provided the credit card is associated with a U.S. Bank. We will only accept Money Orders if they are drawn against a U.S. Bank.
We will accept direct Wire Transfer, but our Bank imposes a “Transfer Fee” on the transaction and we must therefore add $35.00 to the final price to cover this. We do NOT accept Western Union payments that require us to pick up the payment from a local facility or merchant.
Method of Shipment
We will normally only ship via Global Priority Mail or Airmail Parcel Post, because of the extended delivery times encountered with Surface Services. In the event that we agree to ship Surface Mail, it is on the express understanding that all risks and responsibilities, including condition of goods received and timeliness of receipt, are assumed by the buyer.
Tracking Numbers and traceability
The USPS only offers tracking numbers with their Global Express Mail service and not to all countries. If a tracking number is available we will send you an email with the details on the day that the package is accepted by the USPS.
Export Restrictions
All items purchased by overseas buyers are subject to export restrictions by the United States Government. The sale of this item to your country may be restricted or even prohibited. If this is the case we will not send you the restricted item. If an export license is required to ship an item overseas, we will not ship the item. We do our best to mark these particular items as US domestic bidders only, however we do reserve the right to provide a complete refund in cases where Export Restrictions prevent us from shipping the item overseas.
Dimensional Weight Restrictions
The US Postal Service imposes size and/or weight restrictions on some types of services to some Countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine if the product can be shipped to their country before bidding on any item. We will be happy to assist in this determination, please email us directly from the item page or send your enquiry to sales@ridgeequipment.com .
Standard Packaging
We have established standard box sizes for shipments of our items that we have determined provide for safe transit under most anticipated conditions. The dimensional restrictions of your destination country may preclude a product from being shipped by us based on what we believe are safe packing tolerances. Any requests for us to reduce the packing size in order to meet specific dimensional requirements should be made on the strict understanding that we accept no responsibility for any items packed to less than our normally accepted standards.
Customs Value Declaration
We have an obligation under US law to make an accurate declaration of a shipment’s value on the customs form at the time of shipment. Please do not ask us to place a lower than actual value on the declaration.
Shipping Cost estimates
Our estimate of transport costs pre or post auction are based on our best estimate of the products packed weight, plus a handling charge of approximately 10% of the actual shipping cost to account for the additional time required to complete the Export documentation, and to account for the surcharge that is imposed by Paypal for overseas transactions.
Shipping on Customers Shipping Account
We are happy to ship on your UPS, DHL, Fed Ex, or other account, but please be aware that we will still charge a small packing fee to cover the cost of materials, and will only ship the item insured for the full value at your expense. All customs and import duties remain the responsibility of the buyer.
Shipping through a Freight Forwarder
We will gladly ship to your Freight Forwarding Service, however, only on the strict understanding that we will bear no responsibility for the shipments condition and warranty after its receipt by the Freight Forwarder.
Returns
We will accept for full refund of the item price any items that are mis-described or otherwise not performing as described in the Auction write up and description. This specifically excludes those items that are sold on an “as-is” basis. In any event, return freight is the responsibility of the buyer, and under no circumstances will we refund the original freight costs.
