Opening: Accounting Clerk

Ridge Equipment Company is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support the growing back office needs as operations expand. This role will assist with vendor onboarding, accounts payable duties and associated accounting/book keeping related tasks. This position requires a high attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices
  • Track and record purchase orders
  • Process checks requests and expense reports on a regular basis
  • Perform monthly reconciliation
  • Perform data entry related to A/P
  • Audit and process credit card bills
  • Address and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Vendor accounts maintenance
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Understand expense accounts and cost centers
  • Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
  • Collect, verify W-9 for completeness and enter new vendor information in QB.
  • Data entry of new employees
  • Review weekly timesheets for accuracy
  • Data entry of timesheets information in company payroll system
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Two years of experience in accounting
  • High school diploma or GED (associate degree or better, preferred)
